ABOUT SWLC

Southwest Leather Conference was created in 2000 and has since become known as "The Leather Family Gathering of Heart and Spirit." SWLC gathers over 500 people of all genders and sexual orientations from Leather & BDSM communities from around the world, who join together to celebrate and explore D/s & Leather Relationships, SM Practices and Spirituality. SWLC also provides a vehicle for regional leather clubs, organizations and individuals to gather and celebrate the tribe of which we are all a part, and offers opportunities for singles, couples, families and friends a deep, meaningful and creative experience of Leather and BDSM.

V) CONFERENCE REGISTRATION

SWLC is pleased to offer registration fees at the same rate as the past two years!! We accept Visa and Mastercard online. Checks will only be processed through manual registration with a mailed-in application.
Advanced Registration $ 115 October 8 through December 9 at midnight
Standard Registration $ 135 December 10 through Conference

VI) HOTEL RESERVATIONS

The Crowne Plaza Phoenix Metrocenter is offering SWLC attendees the special rate of $99 per night, plus tax, for up to four persons per room. Reserve your hotel room NOW by calling the hotel directly at (602) 943-2341. Be sure to mention "Southwest Leather Conference" to receive the $99 rate for rooms booked between Wednesday, January 9th and Tuesday, January 15th. If you want to take part in our "Living Leather Pride Quilt," be sure to ask for a room facing the "inner pool atrium" and bring your club or family banners with you to hang from your balcony. If you don't get a balcony room, your colors can still be hung them from the many "public" balconies throughout the atrium.

You must give the agent your SWLC Registration Number to ensure that your reservations will be held. Reservations without an accompanying SWLC registration number by Monday, December 10th, 2007, may be cancelled especially when the hotel sells out. Cancellations made on or after Monday, December 10th, will result in a one-night room charge of $99 plus tax. Cancellations made on or after Friday, December 28th, 2007 will result in a two-night room charge of $198 plus tax. These stricter policies have been put into place to protect our room block from erroneous room reservations and duplications.

A dinner honoring and celebrating those at the conference who wish to embrace healthy living. Whether you are a cancer survivor, live with HIV, have chosen sobriety, had weight loss surgery or quit smoking; whether you are just deciding to commit to living healthy or you love and support those who have faced such challenges: we welcome you to join us at this celebration!

THE OASIS
In the spirit of "Primal Within: Espiri" (SWLC 2007), Welcome to…OASIS! Our Friday night event – free for all attendees -- will feature four invited guests sharing their ritual SM passions. We will also have "Stations of the Cross" set up for attendees to sample various sensations of SM and Power Exchange, hosted by some of our tribe's most skilled elders.

CONCLUSION OF TITLE CONTESTS & SILENT AUCTION
On Saturday Night, join us in your formal leather-fetish-rubber attire for a night featuring a formal Color Guard, entertaining emcees, and the conclusion of our three title contests, including contestant speeches, on-stage questions and the "unveiling" of our 2008 Titleholders! This event features a cash bar, raffle ticket sales and the announcement of our Silent Auction Winners.

LIVING LEATHER PRIDE QUILT
SWLC attendees, fly your flags! Take part in the "Living Leather Pride Quilt" by bringing a banner from your club, family, leather business, or other Leather/BDSM-affiliated organization to hang from your room's balcony, and helping to create a beautiful display of living leather pride!

LEATHER TRIBAL REVIVAL
Join us on Sunday Morning for a multi-denominational service led by Reverend Elect Tim Hamilton (a.k.a. Pup Tim), featuring Buddhist, Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Pagan and other traditions presented by members of our SWLC Family. The Revival will also include the "Leather Tribal Revival Choir," led by slave Alia and made up of SWLC attendees and staff.

*DANCE OF SOULS
SWLC's powerful closing tradition is a piercing ritual about letting go, surrendering and saying YES, I AM WILLING to the Universe! During this Fakir Musafar-inspired hook-pull experience, attendees transform into "modern primitives" by participating as flesh dancers, spirit dancers, drummers, or witness bearers. Flesh dancers are pierced with hooks, bells or balls and take part in an ecstatic dance, tethered together or separately. This Native-American flavored ritual celebration provides a powerful conclusion to the weekend.

BE A CONTESTANT IN ONE OF OUR TITLE CONTESTS!
SWLC's three title contests (U.S. Daddy/boy, Southwest Master/slave, Southwest Bootblack) were established to recognize and honor the dedication, spirit and service that the very best in the community exemplify. SWLC is seeking people of all genders and orientations to compete in these contests. Application deadline is December 15, 2007. BECOME A VOLUNTEER!
SWLC would simply not take place without tremendous volunteer support. The SWLC Team's mission is to provide service opportunities within the conference for people interested in helping to make it all happen. Discounted registration will be granted based on the number of hours each volunteer completes: 8 hours of service at $62.00; 4 hours of service at $75.00. Several crew positions are available.

THE MASTER SKIP SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT SCHOLARSHIP
Are you pursuing formal religious or spiritual training/education for the purpose of accreditation and/or personal spiritual growth and development? If so, you may want to consider applying for The Master Skip Spiritual Development Scholarship. Recipients will be announced at SWLC on Sunday, January 13th, 2008 and may receive funding up to $1,000.
